Mission: Enhanced access, presentation, and use of education information and analysis for evidence-based policies and programs.

Functions
  • Provide ready access to current, comprehensive education data for policy making and program management
  • Provide policy analysis and research focused on key issues in education
  • Build partnerships and networks to promote the use of education information for policy-making and program management

Audience
  • Governments, international organizations, donor agencies, NGOs, foundations, development organizations, corporations, and individuals involved in providing and improving education in developing countries

Assets
  • Data: EPDC maintains a global, multi-source database of national and sub-national education and related indicators
  • Presentation: EPDC provides tools – graphs, charts, education pyramids – that permit a range of users to better understand and analyze data
  • Analysis: EPDC provides analytic tools – projections, rapid assessment calculator – and reports on important education issues
  • Access: The EPDC data and tools are available on-line and accessible through a flexible, user-responsive reporting software
  • Expertise: EPDC staff possess extensive knowledge and practical experience with education and education data
  • Partners: EPDC has developed relations with key partners that provide critical opportunities for networking and collaboration
  • Capacity Building: EPDC builds training programs in response to demand for enhanced skills in the use of evidence for planning, implementation, and evaluation.

  • EPDC engages with key partners in order to assess the demand and need for data and analysis and to help direct the deployment of our resources: USAID, AED, World Bank, UNESCO, UIS, DFID, Center for Global Development, EFA Fast Track Initiative, EFA Global Monitoring Report
