Line graph depicting data from 200-2025, showing continuing projection data in lighter shades.

In 2009, UNESCO’s Education for All Global Monitoring report team engaged the EPDC to calculate the finance gaps of achieving EFA goals in the world’s poorest countries. Projections were made for 47 countries, and include pre-school, primary and lower secondary enrolment, support for marginalized children, adult literacy, gender parity, and improved resources for schools. The results include projections of enrolment rates, pupils, teacher needs, classrooms and materials, as well as costs for these inputs and subsidies for marginalized pupils. The projections calculate the finance gap for each country. All the results are contained in one, international model in Excel that can be accessed here. In addition, this page has links to the Global Monitoring Report, the Background paper, as well as supporting materials for those interested in using the model to make their own projections.
