Description

Learning outcomes include the skills, knowledge, and values that represent the outputs of educational processes. Assessments of learning outcomes typically measure student achievement in skills or subject areas such as mathematics, reading, or science at set school levels. Countries may decide to participate in international or regional assessments, the results of which are frequently used in cross-national comparisons. Such international and regional assessments include Progress in International Reading and Literacy Study (PIRLS), Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), Southern and Eastern Africa Consortium for Monitoring Educational Quality (SACMEQ), and Primer y Segundo Estudio Regional Comparativo y Explicativo (PERCE/SERCE). In its collections, EPDC makes available data from these assessments as well as national level sources such as the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), the Early Grade Reading and Math Assessments (EGRA/EGMA), Beekungo and UWEZO, which have the advantage of being more tailored to national contexts.
